People with mental and substance abuse disorders risk dying decades earlier (on average, 25 years) than other people — mostly from untreated and preventable chronic illnesses like hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease. These treatable issues are aggravated by a lack of personal initiative, poor health habits such as inadequate physical activity, poor nutrition, smoking, and substance abuse. Barriers to treatment, coupled with challenges in navigating a complex healthcare system often pose insurmountable obstacles to getting proper health care of any kind. This is particularly true of those suffering from addiction, dual diagnosis, and mental illness. We seek to break those barriers down through ease of admission, transparency and a sense of urgency to heal the whole person and not just the substance use disorder.

Treatment centers and primary care settings are the gateway to the behavioral health system. Unfortunately, most traditional providers are overwhelmed by a system that is strained by limitations and controlled by a view to the bottom line. They require support and resources to screen and treat individuals with behavioral and general healthcare needs.

1 Method, in accordance with SAMHSA guidelines, recognizes the solution to these problems lies in integrated care, the systematic coordination of general and behavioral healthcare. Integrating mental health, substance abuse, and primary care services produces the best outcomes and proves the most effective approach to caring for people with multiple healthcare needs.
